About these website terms

These terms apply when you use the CoverInMinutes website and its digital journeys. They explain how the website can be used and the difference between general website information, a quote and an insurance contract.

CoverInMinutes is a trading style used by Northbridge Motor Solutions. Where insurance is made available through the journey, the relevant policy documents identify the insurer and other firms responsible for the insurance product and regulated activities.

Using the website

You must not deliberately misuse the website, interfere with its security or operation, attempt unauthorised access, submit information you know is false, impersonate another person or use a payment method you are not authorised to use.

Information you provide

Quote and eligibility outcomes can depend on the information entered. You are responsible for checking that driver, vehicle, address, licence, cover-date and intended-use information is accurate before proceeding.

The issued policy documents take priority. Website descriptions and examples are general information. The certificate, schedule, IPID and policy wording issued for the selected product govern the actual cover.

THE INSURANCE JOURNEY

A website journey is not the same as confirmed cover.

Each stage has a different purpose.

Quote

A quote is based on the details supplied and can be subject to eligibility, underwriting, availability and other conditions. A quote is not evidence of insurance.

Payment

A payment attempt can succeed, fail, remain pending or be reversed. A bank entry alone does not prove that a policy was issued.

Documents

Before driving, confirm that valid documents have been issued for the correct driver, vehicle and cover period and read the conditions that apply.

Eligibility and underwriting

Temporary car insurance is not available to every driver, vehicle, use or circumstance. Eligibility criteria, underwriting questions, pricing and availability can change and may be determined by the insurance providers involved in the journey.

Prices and quote validity

Prices can depend on the information supplied, cover dates, vehicle, driver and underwriting factors. A displayed price may only remain available for the relevant quote/session and can change if information changes or a quote is recreated.

Payments

Payments may be processed using third-party payment services. You must use a payment method you are authorised to use and follow any verification steps presented by the payment provider.

If a payment fails, is cancelled, remains unclear, is reversed or is disputed, do not assume cover exists. Use the payment-support route and verify the status before driving.

Cancellations and refunds

Any cancellation or refund right depends on the insurance product, the stage of the journey, whether cover has started, the relevant policy terms and any applicable legal rights. Check the issued policy documents and the cancellation information supplied with the product rather than assuming every temporary policy can be refunded.

Policy documents and My Portal

Where policy documents are made available electronically, you are responsible for checking them and retaining access to them. My Portal is provided as a convenience for locating available records; inability to access the portal does not change the policy terms or extend cover.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Check the important details before you drive.

Temporary cover is time-specific, so small errors can matter.

Driver

Check the insured person.

Make sure the name, licence information and other driver details in the documents are correct.

Vehicle

Check the registration and vehicle.

Do not rely on a policy document that identifies the wrong vehicle.

Time

Check the exact start and end.

Do not drive before the policy starts or after it ends unless you have other valid insurance in place.

Use

Check permitted use and exclusions.

The policy wording and schedule determine whether the intended journey or use is covered.

Vehicle legality and roadworthiness

Insurance does not remove the driver's responsibility to comply with other legal requirements. You remain responsible for ensuring that the driver is appropriately licensed and that the vehicle is roadworthy and meets applicable tax, MOT and other requirements.

Website availability

The website may occasionally be unavailable or slower than usual because of maintenance, security measures, hosting/network issues or third-party outages. Quote, vehicle lookup, payment and document services can also depend on external providers.

Do not wait until the last moment to arrange cover where a delay would prevent you from verifying valid insurance before driving.

Third-party services

The website may connect to payment, lookup, insurer, administration or other third-party services. Those providers can have their own terms, privacy notices and technical requirements. CoverInMinutes cannot change the contractual terms of a third party simply by describing the service on this website.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the CoverInMinutes branding, original website design, written content and other site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. You may use the website for normal personal access to the service, but you must not reproduce or commercially exploit site materials without permission where permission is required.

Links and general information

Links to third-party sites may be provided for convenience. A link does not mean the website controls the content or availability of that external service. General website information should not be treated as legal, financial or insurance advice tailored to your circumstances.

Problems, complaints and support

For website, payment or document issues, use the support hub. Formal complaints are explained in the complaints process. Product-specific complaints may need to be handled by the responsible insurance firm identified in the policy documents.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the website, services, providers or legal requirements change. The version published on the website is the current website version.

BEFORE DRIVING

Confirm the policy, not just the payment

A completed web form or bank transaction is not a substitute for valid policy documentation.

Check the driver, vehicle, dates, times and permitted use in the issued documents.

If the payment or document status is unclear, use support before making assumptions about cover.

Keep the policy documents available for the duration of the temporary cover.
